Bioinformatics Calendar

The COBRE Cores are available for use by all MSU faculty members, and by arrangement faculty members from other institutions, particularly other COBRE and INBRE institutions in Mississippi, can have access. Many of the instruments at the Wise Center are available at no charge, but before signing up for use, please see Dr. Pruett so he can arrange training on the instrument. Flow Cytometry and high speed cell sorting are available at the Wise Center for a reasonable fee, and an experienced operator will analyze your samples. Services at I2AT and IGBB are available on a fee for service basis, and in both cases experienced personnel are there to assist or to actually perform your analysis.

Technical Core B

Omics and Bioinformatics Core

The Omics and Bioinformatics Core of this COBRE supports and utilizes the instrumentation and expertise in the Institute for Genomics, Biotechnology, and Biocomputing at Mississippi State University ( in combination with expertise from COBRE personnel (Dr. Mark Lawrence and Dr. Bindu Nanduri). Proteomics and high throughput DNA sequencing and transcriptomics are supported as well as use of various pipelines for data analysis. The COBRE provides investigators access to state of the art bioinformatics software such as Ingenuity Pathway Analysis. Technical Core C

Cellular Purification and Analysis

This is a “virtual core” that include instrumentation and technical expertise available through the MSU Institute of Imaging and Analytical Technologies (I2AT) ( and various technologies and expertise available at other locations, particularly the College of Veterinary Medicine.
