Emergency
The emergency service of AERC is open to receive referral transfer cases and walk-in emergencies after hours and on weekends—365 days a year. It is staffed by veterinarians dedicated to providing the highest quality emergency care for their patients. It is our goal to provide superior customer service so we can meet the needs of patients, owners, and referring veterinarians.
The emergency service works with our on-staff veterinarians, as well as in consultation with faculty of Mississippi State University, to provide the highest level of care for emergency patients needing advanced diagnostics and treatment. Our staff doctors and technicians undergo continued training to ensure they are well versed in the latest in patient care techniques.
The emergency service is available after hours 7 days a week. Daytime emergency by referral is also available.

- Postoperative patient monitoring including ECG, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation
- Pain management
- IV pump-delivered constant rate infusions
- Intensive care medical support
- Continuous oxygen therapy
- Nutritional support
- Seizure watch
- Emergency surgery
- Blood transfusions
