Cancer diagnostic services now offered at MSU-CVM include advanced imaging modalities such as digital radiography, ultrasonography, CT and MRI, and access to experienced pathologists and clinical pathologists with a real commitment to rapid reporting of results. Working with a focused team of clinicians, house officers, technicians and students within the Small Animal Medicine group, our Oncology service is able to provide diagnostic techniques such as bone marrow aspiration, core bone biopsies, incisional/excisional biopsies and fine needle aspiration of various masses, and work with all of the college’s clinical service groups to advise and coordinate the medical and surgical management of our cancer patients. The goal of the Oncology service team is to provide hope, compassion and healing, while offering innovative treatment options for the whole patient, using a combination of medical, surgical, radiotherapy, and nutritional options. Our experienced team provides unmatched treatment and care while engaging in ongoing clinical research to explore new diagnostics and treatments in the fight against cancer.
We would like to welcome the newest member of our Oncology Treatment Team, Dr. Alyssa Sullivant, a member of the MSU-CVM Class of 2007. Dr. Sullivant practiced at Desoto County Animal Clinic for 5 years, and has returned to MSU-CVM to receive advanced training in Internal Medicine and Oncology.
