Dinah G. Jordan, BSPh, RPh, PharmD, FSVHP, DICVP

For the past 21years, Dr. Jordan has been Chief of Pharmacy Services at the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine and is also Associate Clinical Professor at the college and a preceptor for the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. She is specialty board certified in veterinary pharmacy as a Diplomate of the International College of Veterinary Pharmacists. 

After graduating from The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy, she worked in both community and hospital practice before joining the veterinary college faculty. In 1998, she received her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Mississippi, graduating cum laude, and holds membership in Phi Kappa Phi, Phi Lambda Sigma, and Rho Chi honoraries. 

Dr. Jordan was awarded Mississippi’s 1991 Bowl of Hygeia for community service and was recognized as the 1997 Alumna of the Year by the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy.  In 1996, Dr. Jordan received the Dean’s Pegasus Award from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Mississippi State University, a faculty award recognizing excellence in clinical service, research, and extension.  In 2004, she was recognized as the Distinguished Alumna for the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, and she was awarded the Earl W. Bradley Award for outstanding service to veterinary pharmacy in 2007 by the American College of Veterinary Pharmacists.

She currently serves on the University of Mississippi Alumni Board of Directors and is a past member of the Dean’s Alumni Advisory Board for the School of Pharmacy, serving as chairman of that board.  She is a past president of the Mississippi Pharmacists Association, the Pharmacy Chapter of the University of Mississippi Alumni Association, and the Society of Veterinary Hospital Pharmacists (SVHP).  Currently, she is Treasurer of SVHP, which is an international organization.

During the past several years, she has presented continuing education programs at numerous professional meetings, including local, regional, national, and international organizations and has published several journal articles. She is a contributor to the Veterinary Drug Handbook, which is recognized as a leading drug information resource for practicing veterinarians. She co-authored an online veterinary pharmacy college credit course for pharmacy students, an online continuing education program for pharmacists, and developed standards for a veterinary pharmacy specialty board certification program for practicing pharmacists. 

Dr. Jordan served as an advisor for the American Veterinary Medical Association Council on Biologics and Therapeutic Agents Subcommittee on Prescribing and Dispensing. 

She is a member of First Presbyterian Church and Rotary International, having served her local club as a member of the Board of Directors.

She is married to community pharmacist, John Jordan.  The couple has one son Jay, who is a practicing attorney on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and a beautiful granddaughter named Lily.  Completing Dr. Jordan’s immediate family are two wonderful (spoiled rotten) Maltese named Sir Dulymus (“Duly”) and General Lothario (“Lo”).
