Board Certified Radiologist

A veterinary radiologist is a veterinarian who has been through advanced training in a 3-4 year radiology residency program after graduating from veterinary school and has passed a board examination. Once the veterinarian has passed this exam, he or she is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR). During the residency, the veterinarian undergoes intense training for radiograph interpretation, ultrasound, and several advanced imaging modalities such as CT and MRI for small and large animals.
