Primary Area of Expertise
My research focuses on identification of mechanisms involved innate immunity of channel catfish to enteric septicemia of catfish (ESC). This is done through the use of real-time PCR and proteomics technologies to elucidate differences in gene and protein expression of fish with differing levels of innate resistance to ESC.
Specialty
I am specifically measuring changes in toll-like receptor expression and activity in channel catfish in response to Edwarsiella ictaluri challenge.
