The Office of Outreach and External Affairs was established in 1988 as an arm of the Dean’s Office and is responsible for some of the external interfaces of the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Some of the primary functions include:
- Alumni
- Coordinates and directs Alumni activities such as Alumni Receptions held at various veterinary conferences throughout the United States,
- Responsible for annual Alumni Reunion Reception which is held in Starkville each year
- Upkeep of the Alumni Database
- Continuing Education and Distance Education programs - Coordinates, directs and records information for Continuing Education and Distance Education programs.
- Open House - Allows prospectivestudents as well as anyone interested in touring the facility to learn more about Veterinary Medicine.
- Tours - Conducts tours by appointment for the general public. To arrange a tour, please contact Ms. Chastity Voyles at 325-1103.
- MVMA Annual Winter Meeting - Plans and implements the Mississippi Veterinary Medical Association meeting each winter.
Extension Veterinary Medicine
Two newsletters are produced on a quarterly basis.
- The Animal Health Spectrum publishes news articles about animal health issues.
- The Pegasus Press is a newsletter about CVM’s faculty, staff and students that publishes three issues during the year.
