Students are afforded various avenues for involvement in research which are listed below:
Students in the professional DVM program may simultaneously work toward completion of a graduate degree. A student wishing to pursue a graduate degree while completing his/her veterinary degree should consult with the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies or the graduate coordinator for the departments. See the ORGS Contacts page.
Occasionally faculty scientists will have the need for short-term or intermittent technical assistance that veterinary students may become involved. In these cases faculty will announce these opportunities via e-mail or after class lectures.
In the third and fourth year of the professional DVM program students can register for a Directed Individual Study course. The student must arrange this course with a specific faculty member prior to registration. Contact the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs or the Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies for more information.
The college has a Summer Research Program for Veterinary Students. Link with the website to find out more about this program.
