Proposed sequencing of course blocks for the DVM/PhD program

1	- Student could start working in lab (Block 1 or 2) - Begin reding literature in research subject area	- Student begins graduate course work (12 credit hours) - Continue reviewing scientific literature and initiate researach proposal - Form graduate committee	- Student completes required course work (12 credit hours) - Continue writing research proposal

Curriculum :

Graduate course work: Students would only be required to take a minimum of 24 credit hours of advanced graduate courses. Eighteen of these hours would count toward the DVM degree.
Professional curriculum: Students would progress through the DVM curriculum with the same class he/she enters the curriculum with.

Tuition:

Tuition would be calculated according to the degree program the student is working on, i.e., determined by which program the course work counted toward.

Financial Support:

A student is engaged in graduate course work only or research would receive a graduate research assistantship stipend. The base would be $20,000 and include a tuition waiver.
